A woman who claims she witnessed an attempted car jacking in Coventry on Monday says she is 'disgusted' with the lack of police response.

The woman, who requested not to be named, said she saw two teenagers try to force a woman out of her Audi in Burnaby Road.

She said: "We were in front of a stolen motorcycle with two lads who tried to get a woman out of her Audi."

The witness added a bystander was threatened with a knife when he tried to intervene. She also claims she spoke to a police officer at the scene and was promised the police would call her back.

However, she says she has not yet received a call and spent close to an hour yesterday evening trying to get through to the force.

West Midlands Police say they have no record of the incident on their logs.
