A 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the back outside McDonald's in Nuneaton town centre.

The teen, who has not been named, needed hospital treatment but Warwickshire Police say his injuries are not thought to be serious.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance outside McDonalds at 9.49pm.

While the teen is recovering, police have made three arrests.

A 14-year-old boy from Bedworth, 16-year-old boy from Nuneaton and a 17-year-old boy from Bedworth were all arrested on suspicion of assault.

The 16-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.

Detective Sergeant Rich Simpkins, of Nuneaton CID, said: “The victim was extremely fortunate not to have been badly injured in this incident and while we have made a number of arrests our enquiries are very much ongoing.

“I would appeal for anyone who has information or who witnesses the incident itself to come forward and speak to us.”

They especially want to hear from anyone with information or CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident 372 of January 22.

Details can also be passed on to officers via the independent charity Crimestoppers, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
