Two teenagers have been arrested after a delivery driver was attacked in Coventry yesterday (November 30).

The woman was delivering parcels in Shilton Lane when two boys opened her vehicle door and allegedly threatened her with a machete.

They allegedly stole her phone and demanded the keys to her vehicle, police say.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said the victim managed to snatch the machete from them before they ran off towards a canal.

Officers, a helicopter and sniffer dogs went out to find two individuals, who were located on Aldermans Green Road.

Two teens aged 14 and 15 were arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of a knife.

The force have confirmed two teenage boys are both still in custody at the moment and are being questioned about the incident.

"Ahead of the Christmas shopping period we issued some safety advice and asked people to look out for delivery drivers. There’s always a huge rise in online sales and deliveries at this time of year. But for those making those important deliveries, it may also mean a rise in attacks," the spokesperson added.

"Please be vigilant, report any suspicious behaviour."

That picture is a stock image and not a genuine arrest picture. I think we can all guess why?
