A gold bike created in memory of children who have died from cancer has been stolen from outside a Coventry primary school.

The bike had been sprayed gold as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and contained a dedication card covered in the names of children who have sadly died.

Among them is Ben Crowther, from Coventry, who died from a rare form of childhood cancer in 2019. He was just seven years old.

In fact the bike is the creation of the Pass The Smile charity, set up by Ben's parents and the bike had been placed outside Hearsall Primary School where Ben was a pupil.

In a heartbreaking post on social media, his parents said: "The total disrespect shown to our stolen children and their families is devastating."

The post in full read: "I can't believe that we are here again...we are now appealing for the return of our gold bike which was outside Hearsall Primary.

"The bike was placed there on Friday, secured by multiple cable ties, and was dedicated to children who had been stolen by childhood cancer.

"The dedication card had been ripped off and left on the floor. This is what has upset us the most. The total disrespect shown to our stolen children and their families is devastating.

"The bike is worthless. It isn't really made of gold! It didn't even work properly. But to us, things like this are priceless.

"The gold bike is super shiny and should be easy to spot, so if you do see it, please let us know. Anonymity guaranteed. Local CCTV is being checked."

The charity also revealed that a Beano postbox topper created in memory of Ben which was stolen earlier in September is still missing.

Some people are lower than a grass snake's belly. :fuming:
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
