A Nuneaton man has been jailed for breaching a restraining order just two days after he had been released from prison for the same offence.

Darren Hodge, aged 31, of Tudor Road has started a 18 week stretch in prison.

This was for breaching a restraining order just two days after he had been released from prison for a previous breach of the order.

The order was put in place to prevent him from causing harassment to a woman, who has not been named.

Hodge was jailed for 10 weeks in April after he breached the order.

In June, two days after being released he was arrested again for breaching the order again be verbally abusing the same woman.

Speaking about the sentence PC Kendall Newby explained: “The courts put restraining orders in place to protect people from harassment and we take any breach of them extremely seriously.

"I hope Mr Hodge uses his time in prison to consider his behaviour and how it impacts on others."
