A small ceremony was held in the town's biggest park
Veterans gathered at a memorial in Nuneaton's biggest park to mark D-Day anniversary 2021.
They were joined by Nuneaton's MP Marcus Jones, Nuneaton and Bedworth's Mayor, councillor Rob Tromans and deputy mayor, Cllr Jeff Clarke at the Royal Warwickshire Regiment memorial in Riversley Park.
Members of the Fusiliers Association Nuneaton and Bedworth branch organised the small service at its memorial, the first since the coronavirus pandemic.
Wreaths were tenderly laid at the foot of the memorial to remember those in Royal Warwickshire Regiment who played a brave and important part in one of the pivotal battles of the Second World War.
A bugler sounded the last post and a two minute silence was held to remember all those who lost their lives.
This year marks the 77th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy during World War II.
