Customers are being asked to ‘Grab and Go’ and stay safe when Warwickshire's libraries re-open.

As of Monday (April 12) people will have 30 minutes to choose the items they want to borrow when they visit libraries across the county.

Warwickshire County Council has confirmed the reintroduction of its 'Grab & Go' service, replacing the current 'Click & Collect' service which was introduced during lockdown.

Library-goers will not have to pre-book a slot and customers can visit at any time during the library’s opening hours.

There are some changes they will be greeted with, these are:

  • They will need to bring their library card with them so they can use the self-service machines
  • Face coverings will be compulsory in line with the latest government guidelines, except for those who are exempt
  • A hand sanitising station will be available on entry to the library
  • Access to newspapers and the scanning service will not be available, and there will be no seating available.
  • All Warwickshire libraries will be introducing a staff-operated photocopying service and normal charges apply
  • New one-way systems will be in place inside
  • The number of people allowed inside the library at any one time will also be limited and customers’ contact details will be recorded for NHS Test and Trace or if you prefer you can use the App and scan the QR code.
  • Libraries will continue to offer pre-bookable access to computers. Sessions are for 45 minutes and these can be booked in advance; online, by phone or email or in person.
