Plans have been submitted for 200 homes in Sydenham near Leamington Spa.

This is the second stage of an ongoing development on a site which has already been allocated for residential development as part of Warwick District's Local Plan.

The application has been submitted by A.C. Lloyd Homes, with the next stage seeing a further 300 homes built.

It is a short distance away from Leamington town centre and is in close proximity to two primary schools and a secondary school.

Directly north of the site is an Asda supermarket and sports facilities.

The development will consist of two, three, four and five bedroom houses, one and two bedroom apartments, and some bungalow and maisonette options.

The planning documents read: "We believe the proposals successfully establish the design principles to support a sustainable development on what is a Local Plan allocated site for residential development.

"These proposals present a coherent, legible layout design for up to 200 dwellings that will promote a sustainable, attractive and safe place to live, whilst respecting the character of the surrounding area and creating a vibrant community.

"The proposed development achieves the full potential of the creation of a sustainable development, and continues to reflect the true spirit of the Government guidelines under the NPPF, maintaining an important sense of place where people would like to live through quality of the design and layout, which we have aimed to provide."
