"Two people injured in Coventry shooting"

A 29-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were treated in hospital following the incident on Achal Close in Foleshill

Two people were treated in hospital after an early hours shooting in Coventry.

Police in the city are investigating what has been described as a "violent disorder", which resulted in shots being fired.

The incident is thought to have taken place on Achal Close in Foleshill, at around 12.20am today, Sunday, March 7.

West Midlands Police confirmed that they received reports of shots being fired, and that two people had suffered injuries.

It has since been confirmed that a 29-year-old man had suffered minor injuries to his leg, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Later, a 17-year-old boy presented himself at hospital, having suffered injuries to his hand and chest.

His injuries are not thought to be serious.

At this time, no arrests have been made and police are carrying out CCTV enquiries.

Extra patrols are being carried out in the local area.
