"Masked men try to kidnap woman pushing pram in Willenhall"

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after two masked men attempted to kidnap a woman while she was pushing a pram in Coventry.

The woman was grabbed from behind as she pushed the pram along Yarningdale Road, Willenhall, on Friday November 20 at around 11.10pm.

The frightening incident took place after a small dark car had stopped beside the woman and her child close to the junction with Weymouth Close.

Two men who were wearing balaclavas and had their hoods up got out of the car and attempted to put the woman inside it.

After the woman screamed the would-be abductors left her and fled in the car, driving off towards St James Lane.

Police say that it is possible the vehicle involved was a black three-door car.

West Midlands Police detectives investigating the case are asking for anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.

Sergeant James Rees, from the force CID team, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who saw the incident taking place or who may have seen men driving around wearing balaclavas.

“The information you have may not seem like much, but it could really help with our investigation.

“This was really distressing for the woman and we need to work out exactly what happened.”
