Council bosses say some changes will be made to bin collections across Nuneaton and Bedworth this Christmas.

In a bid to accommodate the bank holidays over the festive season, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has said there will be some temporary changes to some bin collections this year.

It will affect those who have bin collections on Tuesday and Friday.

To make sure that people are ready for the changes, the council’s refuse crews will be delivering bin hangers with all the information regarding the holiday period collection changes to all residents for two weeks.

They will be starting to deliver the hangers on Monday (November 23).

What are the changes?

  • Tuesday, December 22 moved to Saturday, December 19.
  • Friday, December 25 changed to Tuesday, December 22.
  • Friday, January 1 2021 to Saturday, January 2 2021
Residents are being urged to make sure they put out the correct bins by 7am on the day of their collection to avoid potential disappointment.
'Keep disruption to a minimum'

Jill Sheppard, cabinet member for central services and refuse at the Town Hall, said:“Our aim is to keep disruption to bin collections to a minimum over Christmas, so changes have been made to ensure those affected by bank holidays are not having to wait too long for collections.

"You can visit the website for full details of the changes and also see our festive season recycling suggestions. We would like to remind residents to please ensure bins are presented by 7am on collection days.”
