A Toyota Verso struck the pedestrian on Tamworth Road, near the junction of Waste Lane, at about 18:10 BST on Thursday.

She was taken to hospital, where she died in the early hours of Monday, West Midlands Police said.

The 53-year-old driver of the car, who remained at the scene but needed medical treatment, will be spoken to in due course, the force said.

The girl's family are being supported by officers as the police investigation continues.

The force said it was keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage, or who was in the area at the time.

Isabelle Boshell suffered serious injuries in the collision on Tamworth Road last Thursday evening (October 22).

She was taken to hospital but sadly passed away yesterday morning (October 26).

Her family said she was a "unique individual" who "meant a lot to everyone and lived life to the full".

In an emotional statement, the family added : "Isabelle was a loving daughter, granddaughter, great granddaughter and sister.

"She was loved by her friends, family and adored by her dog and cat whom she loved.

"She meant a lot to everyone and lived life to the full; she loved art, dancing, singing and learning.

"She was learning to play the guitar and was a unique individual who loved to set her own trends.

"The best daughter anyone could ever have.
