A thug who launched a "deliberate attack" on two police officers has been jailed for 10 months
Robbie Carroll punched one officer in the chin and spat at another during an incident in Coventry on June 24.
Coventry Magistrates' Court described the violence as a "deliberate attack on a public servant carrying out public duties".
The 22-year-old, of Queen Victoria Road, in the city centre, was handed a 10-month prison after pleading guilty to two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
He was told to pay £200 compensation to the officer he punched and £300 compensation to his spitting victim.
Carroll also admitted causing criminal damage to a communal area at a property in the city two days before the attack. He was ordered to pay £1,000 compensation for the damage.
