Four people were seriously injured in a two-car smash in Coventry after a police pursuit of one of the vehicles involved.
The driver of one of the vehicles failed to stop for officers from Warwickshire Police, prior to the collision taking place, not far from Coventry city centre.
It happened shortly before 2pm on the stretch of Foleshill Road heading towards Coventry between Harnall Lane and the ring road.
The vehicles involved were an Audi estate and a Volkswagen Golf and both sustained severe front end damage.
The driver and two passengers of one car, two teenage boys and a man, and the woman driver of the second vehicle, were all seriously injured in the collision.
They received trauma care at the scene from paramedics before being taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.
The collision saw a huge emergency services presence with officers from both West Midlands Police and Warwickshire Police in attendance, along with crews from West Midlands Fire Service four West Midlands Ambulance Service ambulances and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
A stretch of Foleshill Road, between Harnall Lane and the Coventry ring road, was closed for much of the afternoon following the collision.
