Between 70 and 100 people were at the property in breach of lockdown restrictions preventing large gatherings.
Drink was thrown at an officer, who also had to dodge a punch, during the disorder at 8pm on May 27.
The incident happened as officers tried to disperse party-goers as they flouted lockdown rules in Wood End.
The police team has issued a picture showing a man in a baseball cap holding two bottles.
An appeal posted on Facebook by the force said: "We want to trace this man after a police officer had drink thrown at them and was forced to dodge a punch during disorder at a house party in Coventry.
"It happened at a large gathering dispersed after we were called to Henley Road, Wood End, following reports of a lockdown breach."
West Midlands Police confirmed this afternoon that between 70 and 100 people had been at the party, and no arrests have been made in the weeks since the incident.
