Three will be installed this financial yearThe locations of four new average speed camera routes in Coventry have been revealed.
Longford Road has been chosen as one of four Coventry routes to benefit the road safety measure.
Measures will be installed on Longford Road and part of Foleshill Road and Bedworth Road – from its junction with A444 to Ibstock Road.
Bell Green Road from its junction with A444 to its junction with Henley Road, and Burnaby Road and The Scotchill from its junction with Lockhurst Lane to its junction with Keresley Green Road, will also receive average speed cameras.
A council budget of £300,000 has been set aside for the schemes, which will be approved by cabinet member for city services Councillor Pat Hetherton on Monday, June 15.
All will be installed in the 2020/21 financial year, while a fourth route on Sky Blue Way from its junction with Lower Ford Street to its junction with A444 will have measures installed the next financial year pending additional funding.
Four average speed camera schemes are already in place across the city - ones on Ansty Road and London Road in January 2019, and ones on Binley Road and Henley Road put up this January. The existing scheme on London Road was extended in April, while the Ansty Road scheme will be extended in the coming months.
