Nine Coventry neighbours are celebrating winning £300,000 between them after striking lucky on the People’s Postcode Lottery.

The lucky nine all live in Burbages Lane in Longford and won the prize after their postcode, CV6 6AX, was announced as a winner on Saturday May 30.

Eight of the winners netted £30,000 each, whilst the ninth doubled their win to £60,000 thanks to playing with two tickets.

The winners found out how much they had won over video calls with People’s Postcode Lottery ambassadors, Judie McCourt and Danyl Johnson.

Brian Farrelly, 68, was joined by his wife of 46 years, Mhairi, when he received the good news.

He said: “I’m over the moon. Our daughter lives in Wales so we’d like to help her out with things that need doing around the house.

“We also like our holidays so we’re really looking forward to the time that we’re able to go on holiday again.”

Other winners included Denise Mundy, 59, Simon Simms, 63, and Georgina Curry, 70.

I am surprised it says Burbages Lane is in Longford as its more in Holbrooks than Longford which it was years ago as when I was married we viewed a house to buy there or even Ashgreen which I ve seen this lanes address come under Ashgreen .

I think the address is Ash Green Melisandre.

Can't expect the Telegraph to get anything right!
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

Postal address is "Burbages Lane, Longford, Coventry". Always was when I was there and still is with my brother being there.
Although the house is actually in Bedworth."

Thank you Rebbonk looking on a map its half way between Ashgreen and Longford but checking with my nice who now lives on a newish estate in one of town houses off Burbages Lane she said her address comes under Longford so 20a Manor House is right.

Interesting we talk of 'postal' addresses. Coventry is in Warwickshire as regards 'postal' purposes, but we are actually part of the West Midlands for other purposes. :?

Oh for easier times when these things were far simpler.

I prefer to be under Warwickshire as we use to be our main hospital was Coventry and Warwickshire .

If you mention to out outers you are from the West Midlands your looked down upon they think Birmingham but if you say you come under Warwickshire your looked up to. I think its to do with Shakespeare country coming under Warwickshire as others have said to me Shakespeare's country then. Sad but true. .

No mention of Coventry in the national press:

https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/12903 ... re-amazing

I've noticed that also when talking about the history of the motor industry, it's as if Coventry never existed.
