Man shot in the face in Coventry

Five people have been arrested



A young man has been left in a serious condition after being shot in the face in Coventry yesterday (May 17).

Officers were called to Gerard Avenue, Canley, after a report of shots being fired at around 8.45pm.

A 20-year-old remains in hospital today after suffering potentially life changing injuries.

He is in a serious condition after being shot in the face.

A 15-year-old boy, 18-year-old man, two men aged 21, and a 51-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and assault.

Today (May 18), they remain in custody for questioning.

Police remained at the scene today as investigations were carried out.
