Vets removed a metal pellet from her eye

A distraught cat owner has been left horrified after her pet was shot in the eye.

The woman, who does not wish to be named, said that her cat, Kitty, has been left too scared to go outside and is now blind in one eye after the heartless attack.

She took Kitty to the vets after she returned to her Radford home one day at the end of April with "blood pouring" from her eye.

She was initially diagnosed with eye trauma and a blood clot.

But a week later, Kitty’s condition did not improve and the owners took her back to the vets.

They examined Kitty and removed a metal pellet from just beside her eye.

Her owner said: “Her injuries are now healing but she cannot see from her left eye.

“I’ve lived in Radford for seven years and nothing like this has ever happened.”
'Too scared to go outside'

The owner and her husband have had Kitty for six years, since she was a kitten.

“She used to love going outside, especially in the summer,” the owner added. “But now if she hears anything loud she will hide.

“She’s too scared to go near the garden door in case we let her out. I’m shocked that someone could do such a disgusting thing to an animal that cannot defend itself.

“There are quite a lot of children playing in their gardens nearby. What if any of them had been hit?”

The incident happened between 8am and 11am on April 27, which is when the owner's husband found Kitty injured in their garden.

The owner said she told the RSPCA what happened, but has been told that because there are no witnesses, it can’t be reported to the police.

She is asking anyone with information about what happened to Kitty, or who may have seen what happened, to get in touch.

People with information can email Rachel.stretton@reachplc.com and we will pass the information on to the owner.

Low life cowards the future criminal as they never stop at animals.
Seem s the vet was nt that good in his examination not to look for a pellet in the first place .
I hope the cat recovers well.
