He suffered hand injuries from the shotgun blast in RadfordAn investigation has been launched after a man was shot in the hand in Coventry last night.
A shotgun was fired through the window of a house on Fowler Road, close to the junction of Brightmere Road in the Radford area of the city.
The blast, at around 10:30pm left a 42-year-old man with minor hand injuries.
Detectives believe the gunman fled the scene in a dark coloured car.
A manhunt is now underway to trace the offender.
DS Nicholas McCullough, from West Midlands Police CID, said: "I would like to firstly reassure the community that a thorough investigation is taking place to find the people responsible for this attack.
“I am urging anyone who has any information to contact us as soon as possible and am particularly keen to hear from anyone that may have noticed any suspicious behaviour in the area either before or after the shooting.”
CCTV and house-to-house enquiries have been carried out in the area today.
However when a reporter from CoventryLive visited the street the road was open and no police presence was visible.
