The local pub has been doing this. They seem to be doing quite well, though I don't know about the profitability.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

Last time I checked there was a £10 minimum order and delivery charge on top of that so hardly worth it for a single person.

That's certainly a problem I'm finding Dutchman.

I always found shopping and cooking for two awkward, but for one? If I buy a joint of meat I'm eating it all week. I bought salad last week, I'm still eating the bl**dy stuff! I know it's not good, but eating supermarket ready-cooked meals or tinned food results in better variety and far less waste.

Zuleika's Plaice just off Holyhead Road was the only one around here that ever offered home delivery, now sadly long gone. :(

One reason I buy from a butchers Rebbonk they will slice a joint into portions for you if you ask then you can freeze them in portions onto a zip freezer bag. I also do portions of mince like this.

I always make sure I buy long dated foods as well.

Salad will last like lettuce turn it upside down and keep it fully covered with the wrapping. I always eat out of date foods except for meats or things that contain egg especially dried egg my mum would never buy food with dried eggs in the ingrediants she must of known some thing from wwii when dried egg was popular..

I find smaller pieces of meat don't cook particularly well. I sometimes cook a joint, cut and freeze, but it just doesn't feel right. A friend will only buy chops and steaks but I think he's missing some great cuts of meat.

Absolutely. The goods on a supermarket shelf can vary so much.

I'm a fan of Chinese leaves, they seem to last a lot longer, plus I think they're tastier.
