Dumped masks and gloves have been spotted on the streets of Nuneaton and Bedworth.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) have been left littered in streets across the borough.

CoventryLive has received concerns about plastics masks and gloves that have been spotted dumped everywhere from alleyways to paths.

It has prompted Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council to ask people to bin any unwanted PPE they may have used.

A Town Hall spokesperson confirmed its litterpicking teams have seen a rise in the amount of dumped PPE while cleaning the streets.

"Unfortunately we have seen an increase in PPE littered in the borough recently, we are therefore asking our residents to please consider the negative impacts this has on our borough’s environment and street scene," a Town Hall spokesperson said.

They added: "There are plenty of bins in the borough to use and if one cannot be found in the direct vicinity, waste should be taken home to be disposed of.

"If residents are potentially infected with, or confirmed to be infected with COVID 19, national waste guidance should be followed."

I've certainly noticed a few latex type gloves being discarded as I walk the dog. Daft me, it took this article for it to register why!

I've noticed they're mostly along the routes used by shoppers which suggests they're discarding the items on the way home from the shops.
