Dramatic pictures show devastation after six sheds go up in flames

Dramatic pictures show inferno that reduced at least one hut to a charred wreck in residential street

Residents in Keresley End are waking up to scenes of devastation this morning (Monday, April 20) after six garden sheds went up in flames.

More than 20 calls were received by Fire Control after the huts caught light in The Crescent.

Dramatic pictures taken by Foleshill Fire Station show the scale of the inferno as crews battled to bring the flames and smoke under control.

The images show how the outbuildings in the residential street were reduced to charred wrecks, with at least one being razed to the ground.

Three fire engines from Warwickshire and one from the West Midlands were initially called out to the blaze.

Firefighters used jets, hydrant and breathing apparatus.

Crews from Warwickshire Fire Service are still in attendance this morning dampening down the scene, which has left mounds of debris.

No cause has yet been given by the fire service for the blaze, which broke out early this morning.

There were no reports of injuries.

Keresley End was the scene of another major blaze last week.

lmost 20 firefighters were called out to Fivefield Road after flames took hold in the roof space of a house.

A ventilation system was used to remove smoke from the building and a hydraulic platform deployed to help tackle the fire and make the property safe after the flames were brought under control.
