Coventry's coronavirus testing centre is just days away from opening, it has been confirmed.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the first testing centre in Coventry and Warwickshire would be set up at the Ricoh Arena.

And today, bosses at the stadium have confirmed the centre will go live on Monday (April 20).

Set to be located on Car Park A outside the stadium itself, once operational, it will allow NHS staff and registered care workers to be tested for Covid-19.

The site will be managed by the Coventry and Warwickshire Health and Care Partnership - comprising NHS organisations and local authorities.

The "high priority" installation has been established in just a matter of days, with the Ricoh Arena itself, and suppliers Moseley Signs and Neptunus Structures providing much of the infrastructure.

It has been confirmed that West Midlands Police will monitor the site.
