Post Office bosses have revealed the decision behind the temporary closure of Bedworth's main post office has been caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

There has been concern raised by residents about the sudden closure of the Congreve Walk-based branch and the fact they now have to travel out-of-town for Post Office services.

CoventryLive contacted the firm and a spokesman explained that the closure is temporary - but could not give a re-opening date.

The alternative post offices include Furnace Fields, Exhall, Bulkington, Ash Green and Hill Top.

"Bedworth Post Office is temporarily closed due to staffing issues caused by the covid 19 pandemic as there are underlying health concerns," the spokesman said.

"It is not known at this stage when this branch will re-open. In the interim alternative Post Offices include Furnace Fields, Exhall, Bulkington, Ash Green and Hill Top.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this temporary closure as we know how important a Post Offices is to a community and Post Offices are designated as an essential retailer by the UK Government.
