A man has died after being stabbed in Coventry.

The man, in his 20s, was found in a critical condition at the BP Garage in Lockhurst Lane, Foleshill, last night (March 31).

Paramedics attended the scene after being called at 10.59pm and found he had suffered a stab wound.

They worked quickly to give him advance trauma care before taking him to hospital.

But despite the best efforts, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the hospital.

The petrol station has been cordoned off by police this morning after the incident.

Two blue forensic tents have been set up on the forecourt as forensic officers begin investigations.

West Midlands Police has been contacted for a comment.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10:59pm last night to reports of a stabbing at Lockhurst Lane in Coventry.

"An ambulance, paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care car attended the scene.

"Upon arrival, we found one patient, a man, in a critical condition.

"Staff quickly worked to administer advanced trauma care on scene before taking the patient on blue lights to hospital.

"Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased at hospital.

Coventry petrol station murder: Pavandeep Daudher named as victim

Image

A 19-year-old man who was murdered at a BP petrol station in Coventry has been named.

Pavandeep Daudher was found with a fatal stab wound to his leg at the garage on Lockhurst Lane at 23:00 BST on Tuesday.

He died in hospital on Wednesday, shortly after midnight.

West Midlands Police believe he was targeted and his death is possibly linked to an attack in nearby Princess Street, at about the same time.

No arrests have been made and Mr Daudher's mother, Amarjit Kaur, has appealed for information.

"Someone has taken the life of my son and I don't want anyone else to have to go through the pain that we are now going through," she said.

"So if anyone does know anything about what happened to my son please come forward - please contact police as soon as possible."

In the potentially linked attack on a 20-year-old man, cash and a phone were stolen. He suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment, police said.

Third murder charge over petrol station stabbing

Police have charged a third man with the murder of Pavandeep Daudher who died after being stabbed at a city petrol station.

Pavandeep, 19, was found seriously injured on a petrol station forecourt in Lockhurst Lane at 11pm on Tuesday, March 31.

He died in the early hours of the following morning and a post-mortem examination later revealed he died from a stab wound to his left thigh.

West Midlands Police has revealed that a third man was charged last night with his murder.

Riley Kavanagh, of Drake Street, Foleshill, who has also been charged with robbery, will appear before Coventry Magistrates' Court today (July 11).

Two other men have already been charged with Pavandeep's murder.

Jason Cornwall, 33, of Arundel Road, Cheylesmore, was charged with murder and robbery in June and remanded in custody ahead of his next hearing later this month.

He will be joined at that hearing by Ethan Lilley, 23, of Queen Isabels Avenue, Cheylesmore, who was charged with murder in April.

Two further suspects, aged 17 and 29, remain on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

Two more charged with murder over petrol station stabbing

Two more people have been charged with murdering a 19-year-old who died after being stabbed in Coventry.

Callum Bowman and a 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have become the fourth and fifth people to be charged with the murder of Pavandeep Daudher.

Pavandeep was found seriously injured at the BP petrol station forecourt in Lockhurst Lane, Foleshill, on the night of March 31.

The young man from Holbrooks died the following morning and a murder investigation was launched.

Three other men have previously been charged with murder and now Bowman, 30, of Humber Road, Stoke, and a 17-year-old, have also been charged with murder.

All five also face a further charge of robbery.

The latest hearing in the case happened today (October 9) at Warwick Crown Court when a further hearing was set up for November 27.

The three other man charged with murder are: Ethan Lilley, 23, of Queen Isabels Avenue, Cheylesmore; Jason Cornwall, 33, of Arundel Road, Cheylesmore; and Riley Kavanagh, aged 19, of Drake Street, Foleshill.

Lilley and Cornwall have denied the charges of murder and robbery, while Kavanagh, Bowman and the 17-year-old are yet to enter pleas.

Two other men have been charged with assisting an offender in connection with the case. They are: Lucas Hutchinson, of Strathmore Avenue, Coventry, and Otis Collier, previously of Portsea Close, Cheylesmore, who are both 18 years old.

A provisional trial date has been set for January 6, 2021.

Petrol station killers jailed for 'savage and senseless crime'

Riley Kavanagh, Kane McCarron and Jason Cornwall

Three of the killers of 19-year-old Pavandeep Daudher were today jailed for their part in the "savage and senseless crime".

Jason Cornwall, Riley Kavanagh and Kane McCarron were sentenced at Warwick Crown Court having been found guilty of the manslaughter of Pavandeep who died after being stabbed in the leg at a petrol station in Foleshill almost two years ago.

The stab wound cut through the young man's femoral artery and vein and he bled to death having been attacked on the forecourt of the BP garage in Lockhurst Lane late on March 31, 2020.

Five men armed with baseball bats and at least one knife had jumped out of a stolen Ford Kuga and launched the lethal attack.

Cornwall, Kavanagh and McCarron were convicted of manslaughter following a trial last year, as was Ethan Lilley.

Handing down the sentences to the first three at Warwick Crown Court, Judge Sylvia de Bertodano described Pavandeep's killing as a "savage and senseless crime".

She said the four defendants, and a fifth man, "went looking for Zac Challenor" - a friend of Pavandeep's - as they believed he was involved in an incident the night before where a window was smashed at Lilley's home in Cheylesmore.

"He (Zac Challenor) was driving in Coventry with his girlfriend and his friend Pavandeep Daudher. They stopped at the BP garage in Lockhurst Lane to get oil and the clean out the car," the judge told them.

"It was there that you found them and when you did you got out of your car armed with baseball bats and at least one knife.

"You set upon them. Pavandeep Daudher was fatally stabbed and you left him bleeding to death while you returned to the car to pursue Zac Challenor."

Mr Challenor was pursued to a nearby street by the group where his car was blocked in and he was stabbed in the foot and robbed of his coat and bag.

The sentences were as follows:

Jason Cornwall, 35, of Arundel Road, Cheylesmore, jailed for 11 years for manslaughter and four years for robbery (concurrent)
Riley Kavanagh, 21, of Drake Street, Foleshill, jailed for nine years for manslaughter
Kane McCarron, 19, of Portsea Close, Cheylesmore, jailed for seven years for manslaughter and three years for robbery (concurrent)
McCarron, who was deemed a dangerous offender as he has committed this offence and is already a serving prisoner for another violent incident, was also handed a 16-month concurrent sentence for a further unrelated offence of violent disorder.

Lilley, 24, of Queen Isabels Avenue, Cheylesmore, will be sentenced at a later date for manslaughter and robbery.

Also sentenced today were Lucas Hutchinson, 20, and another 20-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, after they were found guilty of assisting offenders by disposing of the Kuga by setting it on fire.

They were found guilty at a separate trial to the other four men.

They had collected a cannister and filled it with petrol in the aftermath of the incident and then travelled in a BMW in convoy with the stolen Kuga, before the latter was set on fire on a patch of land in Coventry.

Hutchinson, of Strathmore Avenue, Lower Stoke, was jailed for three years while the other 20-year-old was handed a four-year sentence for assisting an offender, and also given a further five years on top of that for an unrelated firearms offence and shorter concurrent offences for other unrelated offences.

Fourth man jailed over Coventry petrol station stabbing

Image

A fourth man has been jailed for the killing of a 19-year-old who was stabbed on a garage forecourt.

Pavandeep Daudher suffered a fatal injury to his leg at the BP garage in Lockhurst Lane, Holbrooks, Coventry, on 31 March 2020.

Ethan Lilley, 24, of Queen Isobels Avenue, was among four men found guilty of his manslaughter at an earlier hearing.

At Warwick Crown Court, Lilley was jailed for a total of 14 years.

Police had said the attack was in retaliation for an argument involving Mr Daudher's friend, Zaakir Challoner

Mr Daudher was attacked and knocked to the ground and left fatally wounded before Mr Challoner was then stabbed in the foot and robbed of his bag and jacket.

Jason Cornwall, 35, Riley Kavanagh, 21, Kane McCarron, 19, all from Coventry, were also found guilty of manslaughter.

Lilley, Cornwall and McCarron were also convicted of robbery, with Kavanagh found not guilty of that charge.

On Monday, Lilley was sentenced to 12 years in prison for manslaughter, five years to be served concurrently for the robbery charge and two years to be served consecutively for a charge of causing or attempting to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to another case.
