Police have confirmed that they called out to break up a house party in Coventry where revellers were flouting the coronavirus lockdown.

Officers attended the address in Evenlode Crescent, Coundon, where they found a dozen people disregarding the social distancing measures aimed at helping to turn the tide against Covid-19.

Eight of the occupants were “removed" and sent home as the party was brought to a halt by police shortly before midnight last night (Wednesday, March 25).

West Midlands Police further confirmed this afternoon that officers were called out by a member of the public to the party.

A spokesman said: “We were called by a member of the public at around 11:15pm last night to a house in Evenlode Crescent. Officers spoke to the people and asked those that didn't live at the house to leave as per the instructions from the government."

Government restrictions state that people should only go outside for food, health reasons or work, if it is not possible to do so from home. When outside, members of the public should stay two metres away from other people with regular hand washing strongly advised.

Not far off what Peter Hitchens said.
Keep washing hands so they end up dry taking moisture our your skin germs breed faster with dryness hence why they say to keep mouth etc moist and drink water with this virus.

They suggest keeping a bottle of moisturiser next to the sink although some hand washes have it built in.

Even so washing too often removes the antibodies which help prevent infection.

Exactly what skin specialists say our oils on our skin protect us and we scrub and shower every day removing it then wonder why we get skin cancer after spending time in the sun.

There was a barbecue party in the garden of a taxi driver next to Spon Gate school when I went shopping this evening. It was behind a high wall but you could hear what was going on.

And when I got home there was another garden party going on somewhere on the Spon End estate, public address system blaring away. Police came and shut that one down. (And no it wasn't me who reported them).

This really seems to be bringing out the best and worst in people. On the one hand, we have those doing everything asked of them, on the other we have a determined few that are flouting everything. Then we've got the local Stazi reporting and cribbing about every transgression (as they see it!).

People talk about life getting back to normal after this is all over but I'm not sure we'll ever see 'normal' again. Far too many neighbourly relationships have been damaged for that. I will say, that where I live common sense does seem to have prevailed and people are helping each other and chatting (at a sensible distance). Whilst I don't consider myself either old or infirm, younger people on the estate have asked me if I'm OK and have I got all I need and can they get me anything.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

This is where the government have nt made rules clear the taxi driver can use the garden as long as they all belong to that house hold as a family living together it was in the news about this last night.

A small group chatting away belonging to the House of Empowerment church was cutting the large area of grass yesterday when government has stated no cutting grass incase you injure your self and put pressure on the nhs they said the same about diy jobs but every one is doing it that was on tv saying every one has gone diy crazy . Yet they have kept diy stores eg B&Q open What kind of crazy government we have you can buy the diy stuff but not to do any diy..

Yes your right nothing will be the same again Rebbonk thats for sure as I ve said above government have not made rules clear at all you mention talking at a distance on your estate yet they say if any one knocks your door tell them to go away do not chat to them yet they could be at a good distance away to talk.
