A dog breeder who sold puppies with illegally cropped ears to celebrities has had two Rolex watches and £4,000 cash seized.

Simon Davis, 35, of Acacia Crescent, Bedworth admitted seven charges relating to the illegal cropping of dogs ears and was sentenced at Coventry Magistrates Court in January.

The court heard he had sold puppies to celebrities, including Little Mix singer Leigh-Ann Pinnock and Arron Chalmers, of Geordie Shore, in a “lucrative and commercial” enterprise.

Now, Davis has been ordered to forfeit £4,000 cash and two Rolex watches under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

In January, Davis’ home and a number of linked addresses were raided in a joint operation by the RSPCA and Warwickshire Police .

He admitted seven offences relating to the illegal cropping of dogs’ ears between 2017 and 2019. The court heard that he sold puppies to customers for up to £7,000 each.

Magistrates were told that Davis’ actions had been driven by a demand for dogs with cropped ears.

He was banned from owning, keeping and breeding dogs for 15 years. He was also sentenced to 18 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 12 months and ordered to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work.

Magistrates ordered him to pay £10,973.68 in costs to the RSCPA.

Davis was brought before magistrates again, this time in Nuneaton , on March 10. The court ordered the forfeiture of two Rolex watches and £4,000 in cash. And a third Rolex watch, valued at approximately £10,000 was ordered to be released to an insurance company.
