A popular Wetherspoons pub in Coventry city centre has closed today after a customer was taken ill.
The emergency services were called to the Earl of Mercia pub on the High Street after a customer collapsed in the bar area.
An ambulance crew wearing hazmat suits attended, taking the man away.
Wetherspoons have said there is no indication the man was suffering from any coronavirus related symptoms.
West Midlands Ambulance Service has said they are unable to comment, as it is a matter for the Department of Health.
The Department of Health says it does not comment on individual cases.
Two members of Wetherspoons staff who dealt with the customer have been advised by NHS 111 to self isolate.
Following the incident, which took place at around 11.30am, the pub has remained closed while a deep clean takes place.
