There would be housing tooA new chippy could be built on the site of a former pub in Bedworth.
A planning application has gone in for the new chip shop on the site of the old Orchard pub on Coventry Road.
There are also proposals to build homes on the site too.
Already home to a Sainsbury's Local store, the application asks permission to build nine apartments over two buildings.
And it states that the plans would address concerns that the site has become a magnet for vandals.
The application has been submitted to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.
The design and access statement reads: "The existing site has been left derelict since the change of use of the former pub into a small local supermarket.
"Although the rear of the site has been fenced off, it has attracted vandals, antisocial behaviour and vermin.
"The landlords have received complaints from residents off Manse Close with requests to improve the area.
"This proposal is to address this concern, and to ensure that the site can be put to better use for the improvement of the local area."
It goes on to add: "The proposed A5 takeaway would provide active frontage to the development to provide passive security.
"The takeaway would also provide local residents an alternative to driving into the local town centre, thereby reducing congestion in Bedworth town centre."
