Planners are considering the submission by Kingswood Homes, a national housing developer, to replace 145 Warwick Road with 24 flats.

The proposed development faces King Henry VIII School, and is next door to family support service Dudley Lodge.

David Hickie, of consultants Heritage Matters, said the new apartments would be a similar scale to a house on the site at the turn of the century, which was destroyed in the Coventry Blitz.

The complex would have 19 2-bed apartments and five 1-bed apartments, across four floors.

Architects have put forward a brick built double bay fronted design, which they say is in keeping with the look of King Henry VIII School.

A car park would provide 38 spaces.

Coventry City Council’s planning committee will consider the development in January.
