Victorian Night will not be making a comeback to Nuneaton for this year's Christmas Lights switch-onNuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council had fanfared having a Victorian Night-themed switch-on this year as part of celebrations for George Eliot's bicentenary.
But CoventryLive can confirm that the council plans have been scrapped.
Instead, the switch-on on Sunday, November 24 will follow previous formats but will also have extra food and craft stalls.
In a statement, a Town Hall spokesperson said: "This year we have had a high demand for charity and community stalls and we have an additional food and craft offering from CJ events, for these reasons we do not have capacity to add a Victorian theme to the light switch-on events taking place in the borough."
