Police said they believe the vulnerable man was deliberately targeted
Police are investigating a second stabbing in Coventry which has left another man in hospital.
The victim was attacked after two men forced entry into his home in Lyndale Road, Whoberley, at around 1.30am this morning (Tuesday, October 8).
His attackers, who stabbed him in the back with a kitchen knife and also punched him in the face and body, fled the scene and the hunt is now on to find them.
Police believe the victim, who is described as vulnerable, was deliberately targeted in the attack.
The incident came just hours after another man was stabbed in Tile Hill.
Of the incident in Lyndale Road, a spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A man in his 30s was threatened before being punched in his face and body and stabbed in the back with a kitchen knife.
"The attackers fled the scene before police arrived and we are urgently trying to trace them.
"The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
"We believe one of the men was wearing a black Nike tracksuit, an Armani baseball cap and black and red trainers. The second man was wearing a blue hooded coat."
Detective Constable Richard Walker, from Coventry Police CID, said: "We are urgently appealing for anyone with information on this nasty assault to contact us.
“Investigations are in the early stages - we are looking at CCTV and awaiting forensic results.
“We believe the victim is a vulnerable man that was deliberately targeted in this unnecessary and violent attack."
