Teen arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in the city.

The 19-year-old was driving on the A444 last night (12 October) when Warwickshire Police intercepted him.

Police intelligence had linked the car to a stabbing on Tile Hill Lane which left a 33-year-old victim with serious arm and wrist injuries on October 7.

The car the teenager was driving was suspected of running on false plates and being stolen.

He remains in police custody at the time of publication.

It is understood on the night of the attack, the victim had left a restaurant in Tile Hill Lane at about 10.30pm when he was set upon by men wielding knives and baseball bats.

Two other men aged 33 and 28 have already been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The 28-year-old has been bailed until next month with conditions including an overnight curfew and the 33-year-old remains in custody.

A 24-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and she has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
