Three men have been sent to prison after bundling a man into a car and forcing him to withdraw money from cashpoints.

The offence took place on Shakespeare Avenue in Warwick and saw a driver attacked and bundled in to a car following a minor crash at around 4.50pm.

The gang included Leon Haq, 24, of St Gregory's Road, Stratford, and Islam Haq, 25, of St Helen's Road, Leamington, were each sentenced to 50 months in prison.

They had both admitted a charge of robbery.

Their accomplice - Bilal Haq, of Shakespeare Avenue, Warwick - was sentenced to 35 months having pleaded guilty to the same charge.

The 30-year-old victim, who was in one car, was attacked by two of the men from a second car involved in the crash in Shakespeare Avenue on March 25.

A third member of the gang then arrived and demanded cash from the victim, before marching him to a cashpoint.

The third man also forced the victim into a car and drove him to another cashpoint in Market Place, Warwick, to withdraw more money.

While this took place, the other two robbers stole tools from the victim's car.

The three men initially pleaded not guilty to charges of robbery and kidnapping when they appeared at Warwick Crown Court in May.

However, at a later hearing they pleaded guilty to robbery and the prosecution offered no evidence on the kidnapping charge.
