Rail passengers are being warned that services between Nuneaton, Coventry and Leamington Spa face disruption until the end of the day.

National Rail is behind the warning to those who use the line that links the two towns, via the city, this evening (September 25) that some serviices have been suspended.

According to its website, National Rail says: "A fault with the signalling system between Nuneaton and Coventry is causing disruption to trains between Nuneaton and Leamington Spa.

"Trains may be delayed or cancelled until the end of the day."

West Midlands Rail has said that road transport has been requested for commuters who are stranded.

It is not just on the railway line that people are experiencing trouble.

Gridlock in Bedworth

Roadworks and traffic lights on the Rye Piece Ringway in Bedworth, outside the old corner pin pub, have been causing delays with traffic backed-up to Coventry Road and Nuneaton Road. Some motorists have reported being stuck in queues for 40 minutes.

The lights are set to be in place until Friday (September 27) while Cadent carries out works.

Traffic in Coventry

There are also issues in Coventry, namely around the Foleshill Road and Holbrooks Lane area following a collision between a pedestrian and a car.
