Police officers were able to make sure that a woman was safeA Coventry man has been charged with kidnap and false imprisonment.
Police were called to a property on Kingsway at 1.30pm on Sunday (September 22).
They were called in response to reports of concerns for the welfare of a woman at the property.
Two men were initially arrested on suspicion of kidnap.
One of the men, named as Omar Hashim, has since been charged with kidnap and false imprisonment.
The 40-year-old appeared before Coventry Magistrates' Court this morning (September 24).
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Warwick Crown Court on October 24.
A 45-year-old man who was also arrested has been released on police bail.
Officers who attended the property in the Stoke area of the city were able to make sure that the woman, in her 30s, was safe.
Police confirmed that she is to be spoken to by officers "in due course".
