Robert Enescu was found guilty of trafficking the woman at Warwick Crown Court on Monday 9 September.

The woman was three months' pregnant and Enescu had trafficked her from his homeland in Romania, planning to exploit her through sex industry websites.

The 26-year-old kept her hostage for two days in awful conditions at an address in Coventry while Enescu smashed her mobile phone and took what little money she had.

He also made her pose in lingerie for adult contact site profile pictures.

West Midlands Police rescued her on February 20 2018 from a taxi Enescu had booked to take her to a brothel in St Christians Road.

All she had in her possession was a bag full of condoms given to her by her captor.

The following day officers raided the address in St Christians Road and found several eastern European women suspected of being used as sex slaves.

Two days later (February 22), Enescu was arrested from his home in Kingfield Road.

He initially denied being involved in trafficking the woman - who arrived at Luton Airport in February - but was charged.

He was found guilty and sentenced to nine years in his absence after going on the run while on court bail on the day of his trial.

A wanted appeal has now been issued to help track down Enescu and West Midlands Police is working with forces across the UK and Europol in a bid to bring him to justice.
