Cable theft on the railways across Coventry and Warwickshire is costing train companies hundreds of thousands of pounds, police say.
British Transport Police (BTP) are investigating the latest in a spate of thefts, which happened recently at Brinklow.
It caused delays to train services with an estimated cost of £200,000.
Sections of line in Canley and Nuneaton have also been targeted in the past few weeks.
Acting Insp Karolyn Pittham of BTP said thieves were attracted because of the high price of scrap metal.
