A new discount chain is opening the doors of its newest store in Coventry today.

One Below is based in the former Poundworld store in the Lower Precinct shopping centre - and everything's a £1 or less!

Bizarrely things have come full circle as the people behind the One Below chain originally funded the Poundworld brand before selling it on.

The Lower Precinct Poundworld store was closed by administrators just over a year ago.

One Below has a fast growing portfolio of stores across the UK and this will be its first in Coventry , creating 20 jobs in the city.

The independent chain says it is the first discount store in the UK to sell everything for £1 and under, with numerous ‘get it before it’s gone’ one-off deals.

Christopher Edwards, 36, managing director of One Below, said: “We’re very pleased to be announce we are opening our first store in Coventry.

“It’s a great location and we’re hoping that the store is going to go down well with shoppers in the centre looking for some great deals.

“We’re offering amazing savings on big brands with many items costing less than £1.

“We have lots of stand-out value deals but shoppers need to be quick – when it’s gone it gone.”

This must be the new "flagship store" the council was hoping to attract to the city? :rolling:

Yes, this is O'Boyle's anchor store and the height of his political career.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
