A MASKED group of robbers launched a savage attack on two men as they walked through Earlsdon in Coventry.

The incident happened in the early hours of Monday morning (July 22) on Rochester Road.

An anonymous resident has offered a £500 reward for information that helps identify the group.

They posted on Facebook: “Two Earlsdon men were attacked by five young men wearing hoods and face masks.

“… One of the victims was severely beaten to the ground and repeatedly kicked in the head and body.

“He needed hospital treatment. The other victim was held back from defending his brother by two of the attackers.

“We would like to hear from anyone who can provide us with any useful information that we can pass to the police which might then lead to the conviction of these offenders.

“I am prepared to pay a reward of £500 for evidence provided that leads to the successful conviction of these scumbags.

“According to a taxi driver who was waiting for a fare outside the Royal Oak from about 11.30pm until 12.15am, the gang looked suspicious and were hanging around Earlsdon Street, Arden Street and Moor Street, behaving like they were ‘looking for a target’.

“The taxi driver also said that, at that time, their faces were not covered and he recalled there were three black guys, one Asian guy and one white guy.

“He said they were all young, around 16 to 21 years old.”
