A Vauxhall Tigra ended up perched in a roundabout bush



A driver has been banned from the road for three years after crashing his car in to a bush on a roundabout.

Police and other emergency services were met by the sight of Karzan Abdul Rahman's car precariously wedged on the island where Longfellow Road and Walsgrave Road meet on the evening of Sunday, June 16.

Despite the Vauxhall Tigra's awkward landing, there were luckily no injuries in the incident at around 9pm.

Police arrested and charged Rahman, 39, with drink-driving and he appeared at Coventry Magistrates' Court on Monday (July 1).

He pleaded guilty to having 49 microgrammes (mcg) of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when tested - the legal limit is 35 mcg.

Rahman, of Stewart Street, Nuneaton, was fined £200 and banned from driving for three years.

He was also made to pay £135 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
