Wed Jun 12, 2019 12:39 am

The suspect reached behind the counter and took four bottles of spirits

A shopkeeper was threatened with a syringe during a robbery in Nuneaton.

The shop assistant defended himself with a shopping basket during the raid at a supermarket in Church Road last night, June 10.

He was threatened with a syringe by the robber, who demanded money from the till.

The suspect reached behind the counter and took four bottles of spirits before running off.

Fortunately the shop assistant was not injured but he was left shaken.

Now detectives have launched an appeal to find the suspect who has been described as having olive tanned skin, short dark hair and was aged in his 20s.

He was wearing a green scarf around his face, a black zip up jacket, blue jeans and trainers.

Scenes of crime officers were at the supermarket this morning looking for evidence.
