Teenage boy chased and stabbed in street attack

Victim was stabbed after being chased

A 17-year-old boy was chased along a Coventry street and then punched and stabbed.

Police have only just released details of the attack which happened in Far Gosford Street nine days ago on Saturday, May 11.

The teenage victim was chased by two men at around 1.30am, before one of the attackers punched him several times to the face and the other stabbed him in the arm and back.

He was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries which are not believed to be serious.

The incident is the 19th known stabbing in the city in 2019.

A spokesman for Coventry Police said: "We believe there were lots of taxis in the area at the time, so we are directly appealing to any taxi drivers who have any information or dash-cam footage who may be able to assist in our enquiries."
