Police cordon following stabbing in Coventry

A man has been stabbed after being knocked off his bike by a car.

The incident happened on Armscott Road in Wyken around 5.30pm this evening.

The man is said to have been knocked off his bike by a car and then stabbed.

He was taken to hospital with injuries to his chest and legs.

Police are carrying out CCTV enquiries.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called by paramedics at 5.30pm today (Tuesday) following reports that a man had been knocked off his bike by a car and then stabbed on Armscott Road, Coventry.

"The victim, in his 30s, was taken to hospital with wounds to his chest and legs, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

"Witnesses are being spoken to and CCTV enquiries are being carried out.

"Anyone with information has been asked to contact police via Live Chat, quoting log 1929 of 30 April."

At least two police officers remained on scene on Tuesday evening.

A cordon remains in place at the scene.
