Man suffers facial injuries in latest Coventry stabbing

A man has suffered injuries to his face and hand in the latest Coventry stabbing.

It took place in Newland Road Foleshill at lunchtime today (Saturday).

The incident happened in a children’s playground on Newland Road.

Police said the victim was a 32-year-old man who sustained injuries to his lip and hand.

His injuries are not believed to be serious.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “Police are currently on Newland Road in the Foleshill area of Coventry after receiving a report of a stabbing just before 1.15pm this afternoon (Saturday 27 April).

“A 32-year-old man has sustained injuries to his lip and hand that are not thought to be serious.”

The force issued an appeal for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
