It's been described as a "frightening ordeal"

A petrified woman had to flee her home in Bedworth with her children after violent would-be robbers broke in.

She was threatened and then attacked by three men who broke into the home in Charles Eaton Road at 10.30pm on Monday March 11 and demanded cash and car keys.

As a result the woman in her 20s suffered facial and leg injuries.

The victim and her children fled from the property and went to a nearby neighbour.

The trio left the house empty handed and police believe they were trying to steal a car which they believed belonged to the victim.

Detective Inspector Lisa Sears from Warwickshire Police said they are on the hunt to find them.

"This was understandably a frightening ordeal for those involved and we are offering them support," Det Insp Sears said.

"We have launched a thorough investigation to identify those responsible and a number of enquiries are currently ongoing."

Police want to hear from anyone who can help trace the suspects who have been described as:

  • A man, between 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in, slim build, between 20 to 25 years old. He had dark stubble around his mouth and piercing blue eyes.
  • A man, between 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in, slim. He was believed to be wearing a black tracksuit which had red bits on it.
  • A third man, wearing a balaclava, believed to speak with a local accent.
Any witnesses or those with any information should call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident 455 of March 11.

Details can also be passed on by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
