The 36-year-old remains in hospital today

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being stabbed in the chest.

Emergency services were called to a property in Sedgemoor Road in Willenhall on Sunday evening around 5.30pm.

Police are now investigating after a 36-year-old man was stabbed at the property.

He was taken to hospital with a serious injury to his chest where he remains in a critical condition.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called to reports of an assault, with several resources sent to the scene.

He was treated on scene before taken to hospital.

A spokesman said: "We were called to reports of an assault.

"One ambulance, one paramedic officer and the air ambulance critical care car were sent.

"We treated the patient on scene before taking to UHCW."

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Police are investigating after a man was stabbed at a property in Sedgemoor Road in the Willenhall area of Coventry just before 5.30pm yesterday (Sunday 17 March).

"The 36-year-old was taken to hospital with a serious injury to his chest, where he remains in a critical condition today (Monday 18 March).

"A 37-year-old man, who is known to the victim, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of wounding and remains in police custody."
