Three men will appear in court tomorrow charged with raft of guns and drugs offences.

The charges come following a series of searches carried out under warrant by West Midlands Police in the Bedworth area last week.

Two of the three were arrested by officers after a car was stopped on Holbrooks Lane, Coventry, on Wednesday.

Scott Moore, aged 27 and Luke Moore, also 27, face charges of:

  • Conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life or enable another to do so
  • Conspire to sell/transfer a pistol, a prohibited weapon
  • Conspiracy to supply cocaine
  • Conspiracy to supply amphetamine
Police were searching three separate sites last week, one on Green Lane, Nuneaton, another at Pedley's Self Storage in Wilsons Lane, Bedworth and a third property in the Daimler Green area of Coventry.

The operation was led by West Midlands Police working in partnership with neighbouring force Warwickshire.

As part of the investigation, Kane Brown, 22, was arrested on Friday (March 8).

He was also charged last night and will appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow with Luke and Scott Moore.

He faces charges of:

  • Possession of a firearm of less than 30cm/60cm - a prohibited weapon
  • Acquisition/use/possession of criminal property
  • Possession with intent to supply cannabis.
All three suspects have been remanded into custody before their court appearance tomorrow morning.

Boss claims police trashed storage business during search warrant

A fuming Bedworth boss claims police have "ruined" his business after carrying out searches as part of a major investigation.

Tony Pedley has accused West Midlands Police of trashing his business following a series of raids at his firm in Coventry Road, Exhall, last week.

He claims thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused after 60 police officers searched storage containers.

“It was like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut,” he said.

“Me and 99 per cent of my customers have been tarred with the same brush as these scumbags.

“They (the police) have about ruined my business.

“They have trashed so many of the containers, one of them is a DJ and he came this morning to check and they have trodden on his speakers and his lights – what have me and my customers done to deserve this?

“I know they have a job to do but not at the expense of me and my customers.”

Mr Pedley says he has spent over £1,000 in locks to ensure that containers were safe over the weekend but to make the repairs needed, he claims it will cost thousands.

“As a guestimate, I reckon it will cost between £20,000 and £50,000,” he said.

“I want compensation and I will be lodging a complaint.”

The damage caused does seem rather excessive. I can't help but wonder if there is a little 'back history' here.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
