Street sign mistake puts Nuneaton in different borough

Residents on a new estate were left puzzled by the branding



Developers have put street signs up around a new Nuneaton development – saying they are located in North Warwickshire

Some residents of the recently completed Davidson development off the Longshoot could not believe their eyes when they saw that their road signs had been replaced.

This is because the new signs proudly displayed the North Warwickshire Borough Council branding - not that of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

Ward councillor Rob Tromans said he raised the issue at the Town Hall and asked that the council ask the contractor who made the 'mistake' to leaflet the houses on that development to reassure residents.

Coventry Live contacted Davidsons Homes and a spokesperson for the firm issued an apology.

“We apologise for any confusion caused by the new road signs erected at our development on The Long Shoot in Nuneaton, " the spokesperson said.

"This was due to an internal error which has been rectified. The new signs are due to be replaced by Wednesday, March 13."
